Gynecology Q & A

What is gynecology?

Gynecology focuses on the unique health needs of women, specifically their reproductive health. Women’s life stages center around their reproductive organs, starting with their first period and ending with menopause.

These life stages cause symptoms like menstrual cramps during menstruation and hot flashes during menopause that affect the quality of life. Gynecologists like Dr. Modad care for women throughout these life stages, managing health and symptoms.

Palm Coast OB GYN is an all-female practice that provides a safe and non-judgmental place for women to share their needs and concerns.

Dr. Modad takes a comprehensive and holistic approach to women's health, focusing on all factors influencing health and well-being, including physical, emotional, and social health.

When do I need to visit a Gynecologist?

Dr. Modad provides gynecology care for all women starting at age 16 up through age 65 and older. Most of our patients visit our office about one to five times per year, depending on their concerns.

If you come in for an annual exam, Dr. Modad will provide a  comprehensive exam, focusing on your current health needs and concerns and creating a plan to prevent future health problems.

Outside of your annual exam, you may need to visit a gynecologist like Dr. Modad if you have symptoms such as:

  • Change in your menstrual cycle
  • Pelvic pain
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Spotting in between your periods
  • Concerns about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
  • Questions about your birth control

Dr. Modad specializes in diagnosing and treating many reproductive conditions, including endometriosis and fibroids. She also provides comprehensive and compassionate menopause care, vaginal revitalization, and weight loss.
